The 17 ward chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Moro local government area of Kwara State had endorsed the suspension of the chairman of the party in the local government, Alhaji Adebayo Jimoh.

It would be recalled that the 17 members of the Moro local government area executives of APC, had last Friday suspended the chairman over alleged anti -party activities and diversion of logistics and money meant for delegates during the last senatorial primaries of the party in the local government.

Addressing newsmen at the NUJ Press Centre today in Ilorin, the spokesman of the 17 ward chairmen led by Shao ward chairman, Elder David Adebiyi said the suspension of the chairman was long over due in view of the allegations levelled against him.

The ward chairmen said the suspension of Adebayo by the local government executives was in oder and in accordance with the constitution of the party.

“We hereby, unequivocally, wish to declare our appreciation and support for the decision of and steps taken by members of the party’s local government executive committee, which led to the suspension of Alh Adebayo Jimoh as Moro local government APC Chairman, on Friday 15 July ,2022.

“While we consider the action taken by local government party’s executive committee as not only being long overdue ,it is however also apt and in line with the provisions in the constitution of APC .

“Therefore, we want to dissociate ourselves from the condemnation actions by those who reffered to themselves, in borrowed robes, as APC ward chairmen in Moro local government, ” he stated.

The APC ward chairmen said all the complaints, allegations against the chairman and his eventual suspension had been brought to the notice of the state secretariat of the party in Ilorin, the state capital.

While expressing their continued support and loyalty to the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq they said the continued stayed in office of Adebayo may affect the chances of the party in the 2023 elections.
