The Kwara Central Senatorial candidate, of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Dr Ridwanullahi Apaokagi has stated monetary factor, internal party wranglings among others contributed to his failure in the February 25th Senatorial poll.

Dr Akpaokagi stated these while featuring on Sobi FM flagship programme “Oro Ilu” today.

He claimed that his political ideology is quite different from other acclaimed political actors in terms of strategic planning and state development.

Ridwanullahi noted in his he is not holding any grudges against the Senator-elect for the Kwara Central Senatorial Seat under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sen Saliu Mustapha.

He also debunked a claim that the SDP has formed alliance with other political parties in the state, stressing that the party remains independent and hopeful about the future.

Dr Akpaokagi, while canvassing for votes for the Gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the state, Alh Hakeem Lawal, said that the party Guber candidate is willing to demonstrate the legacy built by his father.

According to him, “I appeal to all Kwarans to support the ambition of the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji AbdulHakeem Lawal by casting your votes for him to become the next governor of Kwara State.

“Our candidate is ready to serve the people of Kwara, not excluding the youths with all that is available in the government.

“Hakeem Lawal is ready to continue with the legacy of democracy being built by his father, a former governor of Kwara State during the last 20 years,” he said.

He, however, congratulated the Senator-elect and all other elected officials over there victory and enjoined them to discharge their respective responsibilities as provided in the constitution and as expected by the people.
