The Resident of Apata Ajele Community in Eiyenkorin, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State has commended the activities of a Non governmental organizations Olive Community Development Initiatives for being at the fore front of the fight against gender based violence and support for victims.
Some of the residents of the community, who gave their revelation at a Women voice and Leadership Evaluation and Success Story Sharing in appraising the work of the NGO held on Tuesday March 14, 2023 in Ilorin the Kwara state capital.
The community in their testimony stated that the organisation has saved lives of many victims and also built class rooms for schools, to boost educational activities in the community.
The Chief executive officer of Olive Community Development Initiatives, OluwaToni Adeleke in her opening remark explained that her organisation supported by Global Affairs Canada, through the Action Aid Nigeria to fight violence against women and girls as well as giving them financially support.
Oluwa Toni in her interview with Sobi FM’s Toyin Saheed called on the state government to support the organization because they cannot cater for all the problems of the masses.
Also Speaking at the event, the Director of Women Affairs from the Ministry of Women Affairs, Idris Medinat appreciated the support of Olive Community Development Initiatives and the sponsors, for promoting the rights of women, girls, and other vulnerable groups in the state.
