The Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD) has charged the Kwara state governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to inaugurate the board of the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) without further delay.
The Coordinator of the Network Dr. Abdullateef Alagbonsi gave the charge while speaking today on Sobi FM program Home Front, saying since the assembly has confirmed the members of board, their should be no delay in their inauguration.
He said the confirmation of the members by the assembly shows that they are capable and the next step is the inauguration which will enable them to prepare ground for the conduct of local government election in the state.
Dr Alagbonsi while speaking on the court case between the agency and the state government on the conduct of election and appointment of TIC says it’s the state government that retains the right to discontinue the case which is presently at the Supreme court.
Alagbonsi however enjoined the state government to inaugurate the KWASIEC board without further delay and also give them a marching order to conduct local government elections across the state within the time frame as stipulated by the constitution.
