The Chairperson of the Kwara State Chapter of the NIPR and an Associate Professor of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin, Dr Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, has emerged one of the 17 elected Council members of the Institute.
Her election, together with those of 16 others, was the major highlight of the just concluded 2023 Annual Conference of the NIPR held between Wednesday, 23rd and Friday, 25th August in Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated Dr Abdulbaqi, who is a former Head of the institution’s Department of Mass Communication on her election as an NIPR Council member.
In a statement signed on his behalf by the University ‘s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the election of the foremost Communication scholar as a well- deserved reward for professional excellence, remarkable hard work and consistent service to humanity.
Prof. Egbewole added that he and the entire members of the University of Ilorin community had anticipated the emergence of Dr Abdulbaqi as a Council member of the NIPR as they were convinced that she had all it takes to be so elected.
The Vice Chancellor described the Associate Professor of Mass Communication as a brilliant, industrious and tireless scholar whose contributions to the deepening of knowledge in her chosen field and promotion of peace and harmony within and beyond Kwara State had endeared her to all, adding that Dr Abdulbaqi is a pride to the University of Ilorin.
