The people of Alakuko Irorun in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State have appealed to the state government to reconstruct the three blocks of classroom and administrative block of the Alakuko Irorun LGEA primary school.
Speaking with reporters, a prominent member of the community, Alhaji Suleiman Abdulwahab, said the present condition of the classrooms is not habitable and there is no how learning could take place in such environment.
Alhaji Abdulwahab, explained that termites had destroyed the roofing of the classrooms, while the entire three blocks of the classrooms are presently in bad condition.
He disclosed that the community had written letters to the State Universal Basic Education Board, the Ifelodun Local Government Area Council, Kwara State Community and Social Development Agency, but the letters have not yielded any positive results.
Alhaji AbdulWahab added that there is no how the pupils could resume academic session next week if the classrooms are not fixed, thus appealing to the state government to intervene urgently.
