In the wake of the heartbreaking loss of a Kwara new media personality Yusuf Mubarak, concerned friends of the deceased have stated that his murder is a testament to the rising tide of insecurity in the society.
A statement signed by Bolakale Salihu, on behalf of the friends and a copy made available to Sobi FM today revealed that the late Mubarak murder can be traced to a gang of armed robbers and not a cult related activities as it is being insinuated in some quarters.
The statement further clarified that the deceased was coming from GRA on a commercial motorcycle around 10:00 p.m. when they ran into armed robbers along Unity Road, near the United Secondary School fence, who robbed them of their belongings.
Mubarak was allegedly shot in the head when he made an attempt to escape while the okada rider is currently battling for his life at an undisclosed hospital, while another victim a popular DJ, who happened to pass by the scene on his bike, was also shot after the robbers seized his belongings.
They however called on the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the dastadly act are brought to book.
