The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju, has sought for the collaboration and a cordial working relationship with the State Internal Revenue Service, KWIRS, to enable the Ministry and its agencies realise their full potentials in revenue generation.
Olukoju made the call during a courtesy visit to the Revenue House, in Ilorin in Friday September 22, 2023.
She emphasised the revenue-generating capabilities within the Ministry of Communications, noatably, mentioning the Kwara State Signage and Advertisement Agency (KWASAA), with a huge potential to generate millions of naira for the state.
Olukoju also highlighted the untapped opportunities within the state that the Ministry of Communications could harness with the right tools to operate.
She specifically requested support in the form of utility vehicles to enhance the Ministry and its agencies’ efficiency and facilitate the delivery of their respective mandates.
In her response, the Chairman of KWIRS Mrs Shade Omoniyi, expressed delight for the visit and pledged her readiness to support the Ministry’s goals and objectives.
She agreed that prioritising the allocation of utility vehicles to the Ministry would contribute to the state’s revenue mobilisation efforts.
Mrs Omoniyi also recognised the tourism potential of Sobi Hills in Ilorin and urged for the proper utilisation of this natural asset. She described the panoramic view of Ilorin from the hill as a potential tourist attraction.
In his remarks Alhaji Abdulganiyu Atere, the State Director of Information Services, extended his gratitude to the Chairman of KWIRS and her team for their warm reception and camaraderie.
