Teachers in Kwara State will join their counterparts across the world to celebrate this year’s World Teachers’ Day on Thursday, 5th October, 2023 under the aegis of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) KWARA State Wing.

In a statement signed by the State Chairman Comrade Yusuf Wahab Agboola and Secretary Moni Mike Modesty and a copy made available to sobi fm, said the theme for this year’s celebration is: The Teachers we need for the education we want: the global imperative to reverse teachers shortage.

The statement stated that the lecture for the day will be delivered by the Dean,Faculty of Education University of Ilorin, Prof Yahaya Alabi.

The Executive Governor of KWARA State is expected at the ceremony holding at the Main Conference Hall in Teachers House, Asa Dam Road,as the Special Guest of Honour; amongst other dignitaries.

The World Teachers Day is an annual event, marked since 1994 as set aside by UNESCO to celebrate Teachers globally for their roles in Nations building and used to draw public attention to matters pertaining to Teachers welfare and improvement in their condition of service.
