The Kwara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic party has reiterated that there is no crises in the main opposition party in the state, adding that the party is growing stronger.

The state chairman of the party hon. Babatunde Mohammed gave the indication while inaugurating newly appointed members to fill vacant positions after the resignation and new appointments of previous occupants today at the state secretariat of the party in Ilorin.

The new appointees are Alh Idris Mudashiru from Baruten local government area as deputy chairman, AbdulRahman Abdullahi Kayode from Ilorin West as secretary, Ramat Segilola Abdulkadir as the state women leader while Olusegun Olusola Sholyment from Isin local government as  publicity secretary and Mallam Mohammed Abdulmunmini as acting youth leader.

Hon. Mohammed said the recent happenings in the party in the state is to make the party platform more appealing to the younger population in the state, adding that the appointments represent 80 percent of youth admissions into the state organ of the party.

He stated that for political systems to be well-inclusive, all segments of society must be represented.

“When young people are disenfranchised or disengaged from political processes, a significant portion of the population has little or no voice or influence in decisions that affect group members’ lives.

“The introduction of capable youths into the SWC of the party underscores our party’s readiness to make the platform more attractive to the younger population of Kwarans.

Kwarans will recall that during our regime in government, the state witnessed an unprecedented introduction of capable young people into the decision-making organs of government.

Today, all of those young men brought into government in 2003 have become critical stakeholders who have contributed immensely to the project Kwara, with some of them still occupying elective offices under this incumbent regime.

The party chairman also accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration in the state of alleged mis-governance, stating that the performance of the current government does not align with the cash inflow to the state since 2019.
