Women entrepreneurs has been described as a vital component in the economic development of a nation.

The Director of Administration at the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation, ABS, Fatima Malofashi, made this known at a one-day women entrepreneurial training program organized by ABS Foundation in collaboration with a non-profit organization WimBiz.

She said the foundation understand  the significance of supporting women in business and the need to provide them with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.

Malofashi who stated that event was designed to enhance the profitability and viability of women-led SMEs in the community, maintained that the empowerment of women entrepreneurs is crucial for achieving sustainable development goals in society.

“The focus of the training is in a bid to propel the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the ABS Foundation and WimBiz hope to inspire a new generation of women entrepreneurs, fostering a more inclusive and sustainable economy in Kwara State,” she said.

Linda Uneze, founder and managing partner of Maurice Xandra Solutions, and the convener of the Doing Business in Nigeria conference, provided invaluable insights on upscaling to the women in attendance.

According to her “the collaborative effort between ABS Foundation and WimBiz stands as a testament to the collective commitment towards fostering women’s economic empowerment and driving sustainable development in Kwara State.

“By equipping women entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and knowledge, this initiative is poised to create a positive ripple effect within the local economy, ultimately contributing to the realization of broader societal goals,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries of the training Balqees Olajumoke, an entrepreneur dealing in ladies’ wear expressed gratitude for the initiative.

She described the event as an essential boost for women entrepreneurs in Kwara State, aiding them in navigating the business landscape.
