In the spirit of the season and the goal of taking part in the Sustainable Development Goal SDG 2030 and giving back to the community, TIIDELab, a non-profit organization dedicated to technology education and social impact, embarked on a series of impactful community service initiatives across Nigeria titled WE CARE.
From enlightening children about the future of technology to providing vital resources to underprivileged communities, TIIDELab’s diverse clusters left a lasting impression on those they served.
Kwara Cluster comprising of Garuba Ibrahim, Alawode Muneef, Abdullahi Tijani, Ahmed Qozeem, and Olorunsaye Emmanuel, visited the City of Refuge Orphanage home in Ilorin on December 8th.
The group donated food, toiletries, and learning materials, and engaged the children in an interactive session about the transformative power of technology.
Abuja Cluster Transforms Classroom for Students
The Abuja cluster, led by Agu Nkenna and the program coordinator Aderoju Shamsudeen, focused on empowering young minds by undertaking the renovation of a classroom at the Government Day Secondary School Ado Abuja. Additionally, they distributed learning materials, uniforms, and chairs, contributing to a more conducive learning environment for students.
Spreading their goodwill further, the Southeast/Southsouth cluster, led by Peace Sandy, visited the Pope John 2 Old People’s Home Calabar on December 9th. They demonstrated compassion by donating food items, stationery, and toiletries, along with providing a helpful health talk to promote the well-being of the elderly residents.
Lagos Cluster Provides Care and Hope at Children’s Hospice: Demonstrating commitment to the most vulnerable. The Lagos cluster, led by Zainab Audu, visited the Heart of Gold Children Hospice, Surulere on December 9th. Their donations include food items, diapers, and learning materials, offering essential support and comfort to the children in their care.
These heartwarming initiatives showcase TIIDELab’s dedication to using technology as a force for good. By combining community service with tech education, they are empowering individuals, fostering positive change, and building a brighter future for all Nigerians.
