The Kwara State Government has completed the installation of an 11KV dedicated power line network from the Odo-Okun, Sawmill transmission station to Emir palace at Oja Oba in Ilorin the State capital.
A statement by the Press Secretary Ministry of Energy Rukayat Abdulhameed, said the Commissioner for Energy, Engr. AbdulAzeez Kola AbdulGaniy made this known while paying homage to the emirs’ palace.
Engr. AbdulGaniy said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration is very passionate about the infrastructural development of the State, which is part of his campaign promises.
The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari while expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the state government described Mallam AbdulRahman as a man of his words.
He added that “in the past, the Emir’s palace had always been in the dark at night but the Governor has restored an uninterrupted power supply in the palace, which will improve the standard of living of the residents.”
Alhaji, Dr. Sulu Gambari appreciated the Governor and the Commissioner for fulfilling their promises, praying that Allah should continue to bless the Governor and make the State more prosperous.
In another development the State Government has again procured and commenced the immediate distribution of transformers in some communities with the aim of boosting the economy at the grassroots.
The Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Kola AbdulAzeez AbdulGaniy disclosed this at the handing over ceremony, which took place at one of the benefiting communities, Balogun, Tanke Oke-Odo, in Ilorin South Local Government Area of the State.
Engr. AbdulGaniy revealed that governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the immediate distribution of 5 Transformers to some communities in across Ilorin South and Ilorin west local government area of the state.
The Commissioner noted that lack of electricity slows down the economic growth of any given community, assuring that this administration will therefore ensure that the welfare of the entire citizens is catered for.
He appealed to other communities awaiting the supply of transformers to be patient, as the State government will attend to their request adequately.
In his response, the Secretary of Balogun Community, Tanke Oke-Odo, Mr. Adebayo Emmanuel, appreciated the Governor for gesture, pledging their support to the present administration at all times.
