The Onasanya family of Oke Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State has confirmed the passing of their Matriarch, Madam Rachael Atinuke Onasanya (Nee Badejo) popularly known as ‘Aya Akowe’, whose passing occurred on Saturday, 30th September, 2023.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen by the spokesperson for the family, Professor Samuel Adebisi Onasanya, a Don with the University of Ilorin.
According to the Statement, the burial arrangement for the repose of the soul of the Matriarch is set to be a celebration of a life well spent.
People and Dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to be present at the service of songs which is scheduled to commence at 5pm on Thursday 28th December, 2023 at the residence of the deceased, 4, Olugbile Lane, Atan Road, Oke Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
The lying-in-state is slated to come up the following day, Friday 29th of December also at her residence between 2pm to 4pm which is to be followed by the wake keep at 5pm prompt.
The burial and Thanksgiving service is billed to come up on Saturday at 10am at the St. Philip’s Anglican Church Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo after which the interment will follow immediately whereby late Madam Rachel Atinuke Onasanya will be committed to mother Earth.
Reception will hold at Omo-Ilu Event centre along Oru-Ijebu-Igbo Road, beside Abusi Edumare Academy, Ijebu-Igbo where guests will be hosted and entertained.
Late Madam Rachael Atinuke Onasanya who died on 30th September, 2023 at the age of 95 was described as a loving mother, grand mother and great grand mother who dedicated her life to raising her children to Godly path and as well as service to humanity.
