A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Gbenga Power Oyekunle has urged well to do individuals in the society to always help the downtrodden.
He made the call in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state while distributing bags of rice worth millions of naira across the 18 wards in the council to celebrate the yulitetude season.
Power who is the founder of Gbenga Power Foundation, said the distribution of the food items is his ways of celebrating festivities with his people which he others to follow suit.
In his remark APC chairman in Kwara state, Prince Sunday Fagbemi harped on unity among party faithfuls especially at the grassroots adding that they should familiarise themselves with the disciplinary system of the APC as any member found culpable of disregarding party constitution will be made to face the consequences.
On his part, the Elerin of Adanla, Oba Abdulganiyu Adedunmoye, cautioned politicians in Ifelodun Local Government and entire Kwara-South against politics of backstabbing calling for unity among the people to attract tremendous development to the Senatorial district
The chairman of the Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) in the council, Mr Jide Shonibare, praised Gbenga Power for his philanthropical gesture and for bringing succour to the needy, praying that he will attain greater heights in his personal and political ambitions.
The Lawmaker representing Omupo Constituency, Barrister AbdulGaniyu Folabi-Salau, solicited for National Assembly seat for Omu Constituency, claiming the region has not benefited such Federal position ever the creation of the state.
