In a bid to enhance the welfare of judges in Kwara State, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has presented 11 top-of-the-range Toyota Fortuner Jeeps to judges at the state High Court.
The Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Abiodun Ayodele Adebara, also received a 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser for the use of his office, highlighting the administration’s commitment to the comfort of judges in their service to the state and the nation.
Justice Adebara disclosed that earlier in February 2024, five Toyota Fortuner Jeeps were allocated to five judges from the state High Court.
He further explained that under the 2024 approved budget, five new Toyota Fortuner Jeeps were to be allocated to another five judges, with six additional vehicles earmarked for new judges to be appointed.
The Chief Judge expressed gratitude to Governor AbdulRazaq for prioritizing the needs of the judiciary and promptly approving the allocation of funds for vehicle procurement.
He noted that the last time judges received vehicles from the government was eight years ago, and commended the governor for his care for the state judiciary.
Justice Adebara emphasized the importance of providing new vehicles to judges, stating that it would enhance their efficiency and boost morale. He assured that efforts were underway to ensure that all judges receive their vehicles in due course.
“We are very grateful. We still have some judges who are yet to have their vehicles. I believe very soon, we’ll have their own,” Justice Adebara said.
