The Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike JP has bagged an award of excellence in Fostering Ethnic Coexistence, in Nigeria through Sports.
The award was given on Sunday, by the Ilorin Rotary club Golden, at the Crystal House along Zulu Gambari road, GRA Ilorin the Kwara State capital, in recognition of the Nnewi-born Sports philanthropist’s contributions to fostering peaceful co-existence among the various ethno-religious groups in Nigeria. Parts of Ejidike’s noble endeavours also include the emancipation of youths in Nigeria through Sports, across ethno-religious divides in the country.
Ejidike was accompanied to the award ceremony by some members of the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports (ONPS), led by its Chairman, Prince Ajide Olayioye, Chief Alloy Chukwuemeka, and Adebayo Abubakar.
In his reaction to the award, the Anambra-born business mogul who doubles as the patron of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club appreciates the Rotary Club of Ilorin Golden, for recognising what he calls his modest contributions to Sports development in the country. He also applauded the Club for its noble endeavours, and humanitarian services to the society.
The former President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN) promises to foster a robust relationship between the Office of the Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, and the Rotary Club of Ilorin Golden. He said “the relationship just started, and that it’s destined to grow from today.” He therefore declares his intention to become a Rotarian in the coming days.
