In a move to upgrade the state’s education system from analog to digital, the Kwara State Government is holding an eight-day capacity-building workshop for 397 education officers at state ministry of education.

The training targets Heads of Sections,  School Support Officers, and Heads of Quality Assurance Departments with the aim of enhancing teaching methodologies across the state.

The initiative, which kicked off on Monday at the Staff Development College, Fate, Ilorin, is organised by KwaraLearn, in partnership with the Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.

Speaking during the opening ceremony, the Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, represented by the Director of Personnel, Finance, and Supply, Alhaji Rufai Abduraheem, said the training is designed to prepare education officers for the digital age.

Dr. Olohungbebe reaffirmed the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration’s commitment to improving the quality of education in  the state, added that the training is part of a broader series of workshops aimed at aligning Kwara’s education system with global standards.

He also praised the achievements of the KwaraLearn programme, which he said had already begun to yield positive results by transforming teaching and learning processes in the state.

On her part, the Managing Director of KwaraLearn, Mrs. Laide Abel, welcomed the participants and described the training as a strategic investment in the sustainability of the state’s education reforms.

She urged the participants to be professional, committed, and open-minded throughout the training in order to maximise the benefits of the workshop.
