The immediate Past Senate President Dr. Bukola Saraki has stated the Governor of Rivers State will not leave the party.
Saraki who was reacting to the visit of some APC governors to the Rivers State governor in Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital, saying Governor Nyesom Wike is a strategic member of the party.
Three Governors of the All Progressives Congress had visited the private residence of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State for a closed door meeting.
The Governors are Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State.Also present at the meeting is former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose.
While speaking with some select journalists in his Ilorin home Saraki said that what ever that is happening in the PDP is an internal affairs that will be addressed in due time.
He said the APC knows that they don’t have any tangible thing to use in marketing their party ahead of the election, they are trying to weaken the opposition party to have their way.
Saraki however said the PDP will address whatever issue it is having now and forge ahead to win the next election and return the country back to the path of greatness.
According to him, “Voting the PDP in 2023 will create an opportunity for the people based on the performance of the APC in the last seven years they know they don’t have anything to offer.”
“The three governors went to visit the rivers governor, is a wake up call for us as a party Although I am not worried but we will do everything humanly possible to ensure all the problem in the party is resolved before the election.
