The Chairman of the Labor Party in Osun state, Mr. Adebayo Bello, has denied the report that the party’s Gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Lasun Yusuf, has collapsed his structure to support the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke.
Bello told reporters in Osogbo that the party could not and would not collapse its structure for anyone.Yusuf, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, is the party’s standard bearer in the state.Bello described the news as fake and the work of mischief.
“Those who are spreading the news are just hallucinating.“Lasun is still in the race and hoping for victory,” he said.
Meanwhile, Osun House of Assembly Speaker Timothy Owoeye praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely arrival of election materials and the smooth conduct of the election.
Owoeye told those new to Ilesa that there had been a significant improvement and development when it came to the voting process.
The speaker also praised the electorate for their strong turnout in the elections.
“I have seen significant improvement and development when it comes to the voting process.
“The introduction of BVAS in our electoral process has made it easier for voters to vote quickly.“And I would like to say that INEC has improved in this process,” he said.
Furthermore, the Finance Commissioner, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, praised INEC for the introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).
Oyebamiji urged INEC to improve the deployment of human capital in future elections to deal with the large crowd.He also praised the electorate for coming out en masse to cast their vote.
“The crowd here is overwhelmed and I think they will vote for us,” Oyebamiji said.
Furthermore, Mr. Wale Adedoyin (APC-Ilesa West), praised the strong turnout of the electorate.“The turnout has been massive and impressive as a result of raising awareness.“People’s fear has been mitigated by the presence of security men,” he said. NewsSourceCredit: NAN
