The All Progressive Congress in Kwara State has dragged the member representing Ilorin East and South Federal constituency in the National Assembly Abdulganiyu Cook Olododo, to Court to seek his disqualification from contesting in the 2023 general elections.
In the suit obtained by Sobi Fm with number FHC/IL/CS/56/2022, also joined is the Social Democratic Party, SDP, as the second defendant and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as the third defendant.
It would be recalled that Olododo elected under the platform of the All Progressive Congress in 2019 , was one of the National Assembly members who are at loggerheads with the state governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, had declared his intention to contest the Kwara governorship election in 2023 on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
He however did not pursue the dream as he neither bought the nomination for nor participate in the governoship primaries as he was announced as the candidate of the SDP to contest the Ilorin East/South Federal constituency seat in 2023.
It would be recalled that the All Progressive Congress in Kwara also approached the Federal High Court Ilorin, to seek the disqualification of former Special Adviser to ex President Goodluck Jonathan on National Assembly Matters, Senator Makanjuola Suleiman Ajadi, from contesting the Kwara South Senatorial districts election in the 2023 general election.
Sen. Ajadi who was one of the staunch loyalist of Governor Abdulrasaq had condemned the APC Senatorial primary election in the state, which he described as a fraudulent process, before defecting The African Democratic Congress (ADC), and subsequently picked their ticket to run for the Kwara South Senatorial seat.
