..……as Bolaji Abdullahi says only youth can rebuild Nigeria

Immediate past Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, has said Nigerian youths remained amajor stakeholders in the socio-economic and political development of Nigeria.

Dr Saraki made this known while speaking on Friday in Ilorin, at the Omoluabi Summit organised by the PDP Kwara Central Senatorial candidate Bolaji Abdullahi as part of activities to celebrate this year’s international youth day and the 53rd birthday celebration of Bolaji Abdullahi.

Saraki who said in as much that leadership requires character, courage and competence, the voters also needs to display the character of voting in the right candidates in an election.

He advised the youths to make good decisions while choosing their leaders in 2023.

He said that the availability of voters’ cards at their hands would give then chance to elect credible leaders that would usher in good governance in the state and the country as a whole.

Saraki also appealed to the youths not to allow unscrupulous politicians to use them but urged them to work harder for the emergence of the PDP Governorship Candidate, Mr. Yaman Abdullahi, and other contestant under the party to win the next election in the state.

According to him “Today, on International Youth Day, we celebrate the endless potential and constant innovativeness of Nigeria’s young people, both at home and abroad.

“This day provides an opportunity for all of us, both youth and adults alike, to reflect on the future of our nation; to decide on the active and participatory role that we want our young people to play in the governance of our country; and to work towards building a nation that the upcoming generation would be proud of.

“It is time for the youths to make decisive decisions devoid of sentiments and affiliation, but based on competence, character and ability of the aspirants to move this nations forward.

“Every voters needs to display character to elect good leaders because if we can’t stand for what is right we will all suffer for it,” he said.

He aslo used the opportunity to wish Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi a hearty birthday celebration and he pray that next year he will be celebrating as a Senator of the Federal republic of Nigeria.

Earlier in his remarks Bolaji Abdullahi tasked Nigerian youths to embrace good leadership quality because of their importance in rebuilding the nation saying this has become necessary for them to be able to contribute meaningfully towards nation building and development.

Abdullahi revealed that some people in government don’t know what to do and lack competence to deliver good governance to the citizenry because they lack the character, capacity and the wherewithal to hold such postion.

While expressing optimism that the youths can bring positive changes, he affirmed that they are the only set of people who can rebuild Nigeria.

He then urged the youth to take charge of their future by electing capable leaders who prioritize the youth population of the country by harnessing their potentials in rebuilding the nation.

In his goodwill message the former governor of kwara state Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed said things can change in Nigeria when the citizens demonstrate good character while making choices.

“Do not sell your vote , the time for youths to put their destiny in their hands is now.

“Vote for candidates of your choice in the 2023 elections, as the choice is yours to make,” he said.
