The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has praised the youths of the country for their resilience inspite the current difficulty faced by the nation.
Atiku who was speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) youth wing celebration of the International Youth Day in Abuja, expressed his desire to form a youth inclusive government, if elected into power.
The PDP flag bearer said his desire is to mentor, prepare and nurture the youths of the country to effectively take over the affairs of the nation and lead the country into prosperity.
Alhaji Atiku decried the lingering government and ASUU imbroglio that has kept the youths at home, re-emphasized that the right to education is a fundamental right of the youths that should not be compromised.
He thereafter admonished the youths to remain focused and dogged and to join the PDP to rescue the nation from bad leadership.
In his opening remarks the PDP youth leader, Prince Muhammad Kadade Sulaiman, stated that the purpose of the event with the theme: ‘Inter-Generational Synergy in Governance’ is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
He however advocated for youths inclusion in governance and the need for mentorship and capacity-building inorder to harness the potentials of the youthful population of the country for prosperity and development.
The chairman of the occasion Hon. Ndudi Elumelu stated that the party bigwigs graced the occasion due to the recognitation and high emphasis placed of the youths in nation-building.
Hon Elumelu who is the Minority Leader in the House of Representatives reiterated the high premium placed on the youths by Alhaji Atiku as exemplified in his interactions and vast investments which continues to create employment opportunities for the youths in his private businesses spread across Nigeria.
He praised the PDP National Working Committee and enjoined the youths to synergize and be united, focused and resolute in their support to PDP as the emergence of Atiku will correct the errors of the last seven years of hopelessness, created by the APC led administration.
