The entire Committee on Gambari-Akerebiata-Kulende-Zango Step Down, in Ilorin Metropolis, has expressed gratitude to all the prominent people who contributed to the execution of the project, that is expected to power the neighbourhood.
The gratitude which was expressed in press statement, on Tuesday, jointly signed by the Chairman, Media sub-committee, Mr. Bodunrin-Arẹ Babatunde Abdulkadri; Chief Bankole chairman Gambari Electricity Feeder forum; Honourable Bolaji Abdulrasheed Apado Chairman kulende/zango Community, and made available to Sobi FM.
The Committee, expressed special gratitude to Senator Bukola Saraki, who facilitated the project during his tenure as the president of the Senate; Engineer Suleiman Kale Kawu, the Dan-Iya of Ilorin for his personal financial and moral supports, and the co-operation and technical supports of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC.
Contrary to insinuations that the project was abandoned, the Committee said, there was never a time it was abandoned, just that IBEDC, under whose jurisdiction the project falls, was not forthcoming on time, while the people of the community were eager to get the “Step-down” energised, for use.
The Committee therefore, expressed appreciation to the Turaki of Ilorin, Mallam Salihu Mustapha, who donated the sum of ₦4 million naira for the rehabilitation of existing lines within the Gambari-Akerebiata-Kulende-Zango communities, that the step-down is expected to serve.
They committee also used the opportunity to implore the various communities who might have been collecting levies from residents, in respect of the project, to return such monies to the contributors, as the project will no longer require such funds, because the donation of ₦4million by The Turaki of Ilorin has taken care of everything to power the project.
