A twenty-three-year old man Jonathan Victor, has been remanded for allegedly impersonating one Adeosun Ibilade Joel to defraud people of twenty million naira in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Victor, a Point of Sales (POS) machant at Tanke area of Ilorin, used Joel’s business name, INTO MIGRATION on facebook account to fraudulently lured his victims to pay into money-point micro finance bank with the account name Amos Daniel which was later traced to him.
Investigation conducted at the Surveillance section of state CID, Ilorin revealed that Victor conspired with one Amos Daniel and Peter Ali who are presently at large to impersonate the complainant.
Sobi FM’s Judiciary Correspondent reports that the prosecutor, Matthew Ologbosaye urged the court to grant prayers contained in the motion exparte attached to the police report.
He also demanded for an adjourned date pending the completion of police investigation into the matter.
Magistrate Fatimoh Binta Salihu, who presided over the matter, granted the prosecutor’s application and subsequently remanded the suspect for 21 days in police custody.
