Shao Community in Moro Local Government Area of Kwara State have commended the Kwara State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, the Directorate of State Security Services, the indigenous hunters and the vigilantes for their swift action in tackling the recent kidnapping incident in the community.
It could be recalled that a gang of kidnappers stormed the residence of Hon. Soliu Ayansola Lawal and abducted his wife and his son after the former had earlier escaped in the early hours of Tuesday in the community.
A statement by the President, Shao Community Development Association, Elder Emmanuel Ayantunde Adebara, said that the quick rescue of the victims and arrest of the abductors showed the genuine cause of the government and the security personnels to tackle kidnapping and other crime perpetrations in the state.
Adebara who said the people of Shao appreciate the efforts used the opportunity to appeal to Governor Abdulrazaq and State Commissioner of Police to use the security apparatus in the state to arrest the other fleeing members of the gang, to unmask the people behind heinous act.
Adebara maintained that the people of Shao want the authority concerned to prosecute any personality whose connection with the incident is revealed in the course of investigation, adding that the people of Shao are loving, well-cultured and peaceful, and will never condone any act of criminality.
The President also called the attention of the State Government to the need to deploy security personnel in the State to hold a “clean-up” exercise on the kidnappers’ den along Oko Olowo/Shao/Jebba Expressway to ensure safety of lives and properties
