A non governmental organisation Brain Builders’ Youth Development Initiative, BBDYI, has called on the world leaders to find a way to put an end to the war in Ukraine in order to reduce poverty in the world.
The Director of the group, Olasupo Abideen made the call today while speaking in an interview with Sobi FM Correspondent Toyin Saheed about the activities of the 2022 GLOBAL WEEK celebration.
Abideen explained that the war in Ukraine comes in a human context where armed conflict, violence and indiscriminate repression affects the lives of millions of people around the globe and violates the human rights of people.
Abideen further called on the leaders to ensure universal social protection for all including provision of free universal healthcare to ensure everyone on earth has access to free, public, high quality health care across their life course.
The Director also called for a global commitment from states to reduce military expenditures and shift funds to address the shortfall in financing for the achievement of Agenda 2030 commitments.
