The Resident Commissioner for INEC in Kwara State, Mallam Attahiru Madami has called on politicians and other critical stakeholders in the state to endeavour to play by the rule of the electoral process, as campaign kicks-off on Wednesday.

He made the call today, at a meeting with critical stakeholders in the State, at the commission conference hall, in Ilorin, which include; heads of paramilitary establishments in the State, political parties chieftains, media executives, among others.

He also admonish politician to urge their supporters to eschew violence before, during and after the election, while also advising the press to abide by the tenet of balanced and unbiased reportage.

The time table for the 2023 general election indicates that, campaign activities for the presidential and National Assembly elections start on Wednesday, 28th of September 2022, while those of the governorship and state Houses of assembly begin on the 12th of October 2022.

After the next year’s election, it would be the third time, since 1999, that Nigeria would be witnessing civilian-to-civilian power transmission.

The general election comes up February and March, next year.
