The members of Cadet Inspector course 36/2002 of Nigeria Police Force at the weekend honoured Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia with Award of Excellence owing to his selfless service and outstanding performance in the force.

It is recalled that Alhaji Ajia who is a Chief Superitendent of police before he voluntarily resigned to ventured into business , politics and philanthropic activities.

The retired security chief was honoured on Saturday night for his philanthropic gesture being rendered to the force through his foundation; Mohammed Ajia Ibrahim (MAI) Foundation, even after he left the service.

A statement released by Ajia Media Team noted that he received the award in Abuja at the event marking 20 years anniversary of the course that joined police force in the year 2002.

The spokesman of the group CSP Bello Yakubu during the glamorous ceremony explained that Alhaji Ajia has been supporting the force and officers at the front line.

He single-handedly built and equipped a modern transit camp for the use of officers in mopol 50 Kubwa Abuja , he visited police family in all the barracks in Abuja during the lockdown of Covid 19 to share food items and relieve materials , even as he is supporting people with various health challenges as well as the needy.

In his remarks the Commissioner of Police Command FCT, CP Sunday Babaji presented him the plaque.

In his response Ajia, who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, appreciated the police force for the recognition and promised that, “if he wins by the grace of God; he will sponsor a bill on National Security Architecture.”

He, encouraged them to continue to uphold 3Cs which are; to be of good character, demonstrate uncommon Courage and show extreme competence with Excellent

According to him, “I know it is not easy to be a police officer in Nigeria, and this is one of the reasons why some of us had to leave the terrain so that we can join the other side and help you press for those things you need to do your work effectively.

“I am promising you that first thing I will strive to achieve at the National Assembly is to present a bill for the Security Architecture of Nigeria where the role of internal security will be well defined and explained.

“One of the reasons we are facing serious insecurity is because we are spending billions of naira on defence without positive results,’ he said.

He caped the event with donation of 500,000.00 naira to the family of late two officers of the course Nasiru Jabo and Hassan Mathew who served last in Abuja .
