The Social Democratic Party Kwara South Senatorial candidate in the 2023 general elections, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, CON shone like a star at the maiden Igbomina Youth Assembly Political dialogue organised by the youth wing of Omo Ibile Igbomina; the indigenous and socio-cultural association of the Igbomina descent.

The foremost Kwara south senatorial candidate, who arrived at the event with other SDP candidates for State and National Assembly, was warmly received by Omo Ibile Igbomina elders, youths, distinguished guests, audience, and the organizers of the event.

Kwara southerners who attended the event in numbers to carefully listen to what each party candidate had to offer the region at this critical time were mesmerized by the intelligent and excellent presentation of the SDP candidates.

Prof. Sulaiman, used the opportunity to share his six-point agenda for the transformation of Kwara South with the good people of the region.

According to him,

“I congratulate Kwara southerners for choosing not to be mere voters but participate actively in the leadership recruitment process.”

“The 2023 election is probably one of the most important elections in the history of Nigeria. Nigerians would use their votes to elect and decide whether they want to continue with the status quo or choose a better future for themselves and future generations.

“We must choose between Political Elites that have got us into this mess whereby Nigeria works for a handful of people while the majority of Nigerians suffer versus a new breed of Nigerian Politicians with a clear vision, mission, skills, and capabilities to deliver a more progressive, prosperous and inclusive Nigeria.

“God-fearing versus People-fearing politicians and Politicians that have been part of the weaponization of poverty so that they can perpetuate their money-driven politics during elections versus self-made politicians with the highest degree of integrity.

“Politicians that want to maintain the status quo versus those that believe in transformational changes in Nigeria,” he said.

Professor Sulaiman said before he embarked on his political journey, he set up a strategic team to help investigate the problems and challenges facing Kwara south senatorial district.

“My track record speaks for me. My one year as a member of the cabinet in the incumbent government was a turnaround in the Kwara State Healthcare sector. A lot of significant achievements were recorded within one year with my sound advice.”

“We have developed a six-point agenda for the transformation of Kwara South. They include; Promoting access to basic healthcare across all communities through partnerships with state, national and international organizations;

“Advocate for and promote access to FREE primary and secondary school education for all children of kwara south; Promote development and investments to create jobs for our teeming youth population; Promote and embrace policies and plans that will protect the lives and properties of our people;

“Promote policies to reduce poverty and protect the rights of vulnerable citizens; Promote and protect our unique heritage and culture,” he said.

The Kwara South Rescue Mission Social Democratic Party’s candidates presented their submissions to Kwara southerners intelligently and credibly.

The political dialogue was witnessed by the Kwara House of Assembly and National Assembly candidates of major parties in Kwara State.
