The Kwara State Government is set to present staff of office to five newly appointed traditional rulers in some communities in the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen today in Ilorin by the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Aliyu Kora-Sabi, states that the Governor approved the presentation to the new monarchs in exercising the power conferred on him by the Chiefs (Appointment and Deposition Law).
The newly appointed monarchs are: Onisapa of Isapa, HRH Oba Oluwagbenga Adefioye in Ekiti Council Area as 4th Class Ruler; Olu of Apakere, HRH Oba Alhaji Isiaka Ismail Oderinde as 4th Class Ruler and Alahun of Ahun, HRH Oba Afeere Idowu Ogunleye (JP) as 4th Class Ruler in Ifelodun Council Area.
Meanwhile HRH Oba Fatai Talabi, Aala of Ilala and HRH Oba Owolabi Kayode Micheal, Alare of Isare Opin from Irepodun and Ekiti Council Area respectively were also in the list as 3rd Class Rulers.
The Commissioner disclosed that the ceremonies will come at various communities of the Royal Fathers on Wednesday, 2nd, November 2022 for the 4th Class monarchs and Saturday, 5th November 2022 for the 3rd Class monarchs respectively.
