The nominees are Hajia Sa’adatu Maddibbo-Kawu from Ilorin South Local Government Area and Abubakar Sadiq Buhari from Edu Local Government Area of the state.
Hajia Saadatu Maddibbo-Kawu broke the record of appearing before the House for the third time for screening and confirmation as commissioner, while Buhari would be the youngest commissioner in Nigeria, if sworn in by the governor.
The commissioner designates were confirmed after the consideration of their nomination at the Committee of the whole, following a thorough screening by the lawmakers.
Responding to questions, Hajia Maddibbo-Kawu promised to rekindle her efforts to further improve on her capacity in line with policy thrust of the present administration in the state.
On his part, Buhari described his nomination by AbdulRazaq as a clarion call to serve the people of the state.
He advocated aggressive effort to strengthen electronic learning in the state to compete favourably with advanced nations.
The Speaker, Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, while confirming the nominees, urged the commissioner designates to justify the confidence reposed in them
He therefore directed the Clerk of the House, Hajia Halimah Kperogi, to communicate the notice of the confirmation to the governor.
