No fewer than 600 persons including the aged, artisans and physically- challenged patients have benefited from the ongoing Professor Wale Sulaiman’s medical intervention in Share, Ifelodun LGA Kwara State.
The medical intervention was the brain child of the Kwara South Senatorial Candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Prof Wale Sulaiman in collaboration with Sakinah Medical Outreach, an international medical organization reputed for providing medicare to the vulnerable in urban and rural Communities.
Speaking at the event Prof Sulaiman a world renowned Neuro-surgeon announced that Fourteen beneficiaries will undergo surgery to cure their ailments said the initiative is part of his efforts at ensuring that the people of Kwara south are healthy and live like normal human beings.
He said he is highly committed to promoting access to basic healthcare across communities in Kwara South, which he says if he was voted in to represent the district at the national assembly more will be done.
In his remarks the Team Lead/ Chairman, Sakinah Medical Outreach, Dr Yusuf Salman said, his organization is partnering with Prof Wale Sulaiman to give opportunity to the less privileged.
” Our organization is partnering Prof Wale Sulaiman’s initiative to give opportunity to the less privileged in communities to access medical facilities with ease”.
“The beneficiaries had the privilege to discuss their health concerns with qualified medical practitioners, which comprised doctors, pharmacists, nurses and health counselors”.
A beneficiary, Mrs Barikisu Zubair expressed gratitude to Prof Wale Sulaiman for rendering selfless service to humanity.
“We thank the sponsor for his genuine concern for the less privileged in Share and neighboring communities. If politicians had been giving this quality and unique service to the vulnerable, lives would have improved signficantly for the masses.
“Sharing of money to voters during elections is not comparable to saving lives of those who do not have the capacity to patronize regular hospitals. It is a lesson that other politicians must learn from the sponsor of this medical outreach”, she.
Over 30 medical personnels from the public and private sectors participated in the free medical intervention program which will be held across six other communities in Kwara South senatorial district.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the medical Outreach, Mr. S. O. Boladale, SA Media and Publicity to Prof. Wale Sulaiman, he explained that the purpose of the medical outreach is to ensure that the people of Kwara South have access to basic medical care.
According to him: “Given the background of my principal as a physician, he understands the healthcare need of Kwara Southerners.
“He has been involved in a number of free medical missions in Kwara State through partnership. It’s time to bring it to the door step of the good people of Kwara South.
“One of the strategic priorities of my principal is to ensure that our people in Kwara South have access to basic healthcare service. He is highly committed to that, and the journey starts now and it would continue when he is elected as the Senator representing Kwara South.
