The Chairman National Union of Road of Transport Workers, NURTW in Kwara State , Alhaji Abdulrazaq Adeoye Ariwoola and have distanced the union from a statement credited the branch Chairman of the Union in Shaare/Oke-Ode, in Ifelodun LGA Hakeem Aweda during a visit of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, to Shaare/Oke-Ode during this week.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Ariwoola, and copies made available to Sobi FM, it expressed that the Union and its membersj are indeed appreciative to the Kwara State government and the collaborative effort of SEAP to empower them with the minibuses whose payments are being repaid instalmentally.u
He expressed that they have nothing but words of appreciations for the State government, as the union is enjoying a good working relationship with the government.
Ariwoola further noted that, there was no time that the Union delegated any of her members to speak ill of the government as the gesture of the government in collaboration with SEAP to provide members with buses was received with gratitude.
The union chairman who pledged the unflinching loyalty of the Union to the government of the day, however appealed to members not to allow any political party use them against the government particularly during this political season.
It would be recalled that, the union had earlier in a terse statement circulated on numerous WhatsApp platform, denied the statement of the Share / Oke ode branch Chairman, who claimed the mini buses program of the government is a scam.
The union had threatened to take legal action against Sobi FM for what it termed fake news , even though the report which was based on a Press Statement by the Media team of the gubernatorial candidate of the SDP, Alhaji Hakeem Lawal, was widely reported by other media platforms in Kwara State.
This is a confirmation of the fact that, Sobi FM story, based on the said statement was indeed authentic and accurate, and it would therefore suffice to say that, the threat of legal action against Sobi FM by anybody for that matter, was uncalled for, and baseless.
