The gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP in Kwara State Alhaji Hakeem Oladimeji Lawal, has restated his commitment to restore the fortune State and bring it back to the path of progress and prosperity if voted into power.
Lawal made this known while speaking to Sobi FM at the Official campaign flag off of the party in Kwara South, held on Monday in Ajase Ipo Irepodun local government area of the state.
Hakeem Lawal who said the major focus of his government if voted into power will be in the area of massive job creation and empowerment for our the teeming youths, of the state who have been turned to okada riders.
The SDP gubernatorial candidate lamented that everything is not working in the state and call on the people join hands with the party in it’s quest to change the narrative.
According to him “Nothing is working in the state from massive unemployment, high level of poverty and failing health sector,” he said.
Lawal, therefore, urged the people of the state to join hands with the SDP by coming out en masse to vote the party into power so as to move the state forward
Also speaking at the event the party’s Kwara South Senatorial candidate Professor Wale Sulaiman, CON, said Nigeria is not working for everyone, rather it’s working for an handful of some people.
According to him “All of us could have stayed put with the rulling government if we don’t care about the people, but we have to leave the APC government led by AbdulRahman Abdulrasaq because things are not done the way it should.
“The government has derailed from all the promises they made to the people in 2019, so the SDP as a party is coming to correct all the anomalies and ensure that the people get what is due to them.
“We are working collectively as a group under the leadership of our gubernatorial candidate Hakeem Lawal,” he added.
The party’s candidate in the Ifeldoun/ Offa / Oyun Federal constituency Hon. Saheed Popoola said Kwarans must come together and join hands with the party to take the state to the next level of governance.
“We have the people and the people want change, the current governor did nothing despite the support given to him by all and sundry in 2019, instead he fights all of them.
“Everyone is seeing the way he is running the state, there is hunger in the land and things must change, and that change is voting out the incompetent APC government in Kwara and vote in the SDP, ” he said.
