The State Information Chapel of the Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has elected new executive that will pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years.

The exercise which was conducted at the conference room of the State Ministry of Communications headquarters under the supervision of the State NUJ Council elects Mallam Adamu Usman as the new chairman, and Mrs. Okanlawon Taiwo as the Secretary of the Chapel.

Others elected members are; Mr. Gbenga Ishola as Vice chairman, Mrs. Yetunde Bamidele as Assistant Secretary, Mr. Yusuf Ganiyu as Treasurer while Mrs. Rakayat Beki is the newly elected Financial Secretary and Mrs. Ndidi Nwafor as the Auditor of the Chapel.

In his remark, the Kwara State NUJ Council Chairman, Mr. Ahmed AbdulLateef who acknowledged the State Information Chapel as the heart beat of the NUJ in the State, urged the Chapel members to sustain the existing cordial relationship with other Chapels for the progress of the union.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Mr. Adamu Usman on behalf of the other elected excos appreciated the Credentials Committee for conducting a free and fair electoral process that produced the current leadership in the Chapel.

He however, admonished all members to take ownership of the chapel for the progress of the union.

Earlier in his remarks the chairman of the credentials committee Suleiman Aremu commended the chapel for the peaceful conduct of the election which he says , made the job of the committee easy.

He enjoined members to work hand in hand with the new executives inorder for the chapel to maintain its apex position in the state .
