The duo of the Chief Press Secretary to the governor of Kwara State mallam Rafiu Ajakaye and the Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, have been conferred with the prestigious Certificate of Excellence in Public Relations,
While Ajakaye emerged as the Distinguished Spokesperson in Political Communication, Akogun was conferred with the prestigious certificate of Excellence in Public Relations, Governance category at the just concluded National Spokespersons Awards 2024 of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Abuja.
The nomination of the two Kwara born image makers was, according to the organisers, based on the recognition of their outstanding contributions towards the polishing of the good image of Kwara state and that of the University of Ilorin respectively over the years.
In separate chat with newsmen on the sideline of the ceremony, Ajakaye expressed his gratitude to Almighty Allah and the governor Kwara state and chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum Mallam Abdulraman Abdulrasaq for giving him the opportunity to serve him and the people of Kwara state as a whole.
Akogun also expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for making it possible, while also thanking the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, and the three past Vice Chancellors of the University, Prof. Is’haq Oloyede, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, and Prof. Suleiman Age Abdulkareem, as well as the generality of the University community, for the support he has been enjoying from them in the performance of his duties.
