The Governing Council of the College of Education, Oro, has approved the appointment of Dr. Abdulkareem Amuda-kannike as the College’s Registrar-designate, on the 24th March 2023
Dr Amuda-Kannike’s appointment takes effect from April 16, 2023, when the tenure of the current Registrar of the College, Mr Isiaka S. Oba-Agaka would lapse the position he will run for the next five years.
By Virtue of hardwork, zeal and commitment to duty, Dr Amuda-Kannike has served the College in various capacities,he is versed in Tertiary Institutions administration and management and has risen through the ranks to become one of the outstanding staff of the college.
He has competently occupied the position of College Admission Officer from 2018 to 2020; School Officer (School of Arts & Social Sciences) between year 2016 and 2018 and Secretary, Directorate of Quality Assurance of the College between 2011 and 2016.
The College Registrar-designate was equally a one-time Senior Staff Establishment Officer of the College from 2008 to 2011; Secretary, Directorate of Continue Education bewteen 2006 and 2008; served as Recorder, College Governing Council beween the period of 2005 and 2008; Secretary, Committee of Deans & Directors (CODD) from 2005 to 2009; and Administrative Officer (Office of the College Registrar) from 2004 to 2008.
The Registrar-designate is an alumnus of four prominent Universities in Nigeria, having bagged various degrees in these institutions, including Doctor of Philosophy.
After Secondary education from Okelele School between 1980 and 1986, the thirst for knowledge propelled the young Amuda-Kannike to proceed to Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto where he bagged Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in History between 1993 and 1997. He is also a holder of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) obtained from Cllege of Education, Oro, in 2008.
He subsequently obtained two Master degrees from the better by far University and Obafemi Awolowo University where he bagged Master of Public Administration (MPA) 2006 and Master of Science (Public Administration) (M.Sc) 2016 respectively.
Dr Amuda-Kannike did not stop at two Master degrees, he took the bull by the horns and summoned courage to put in for PhD at the same Obafemi Awolowo University in spite of the enormity of his duties in the college. The quest for sound and qualitative education kept him focused and determined as he bagged Doctor of Philosophy (Public Administration) (Ph.D) from OAU in 2021.
He is a member of various professional bodies, among which are Fellow, Strategic Institute for Natural Resources and Human Development (FSINRHD) , Member, Training Guild International (TGI), Member Institute of Public Management (IPM), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) (Registration in progress), among others.
He is a recipient of various academic and community development awards. Dr Amuda-Kannike has presented papers at various national and international conferences.
