I want to sincerely appreciate Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for the ongoing interlocking project on our road. It is important to recognize and commend good work, regardless of political differences.
When a government performs well, it deserves our appreciation, as this encourages further positive actions for the benefit of the people.
Therefore, I commend His Excellency, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of Kwara State, for providing the interlock in our area, Popo Giwa, opposite Giwa Compound, linking to Ita Egba, Pakata Road.
Meanwhile, I appeal to the people of Ilorin Emirates and Kwara State at large to stop blackmailing or making negative comments about Professor Abubakar Olarewaju Suleiman for moving to the All Progressive Party (APC).
It should be remembered that Professor Suleiman, the DG of NILDS, hails from Ilorin West, Kwara State, and has made significant contributions to our community.
Despite allegations from some quarters within Ilorin people that he is using APC resources for PDP members, Saraki Dynasty and several threats to resign or fully join the APC, he chose to align with the APC after much consultation.
It’s crucial to note that Professor Suleiman is not desperate to be Governor of Kwara State; he believes that it is the will of Almighty Allah who bestows positions.
As a former Minister and the current DG of NILDS, he openly appreciates those who have helped him achieve his current status, including Dr. Bukola Saraki, the National Leader and leader of all politicians in Kwara State, who facilitated his appointment as DG of NILDS.
Professor Suleiman has publicly acknowledged his gratitude towards Dr. Saraki. Therefore, I appeal to the people of Ilorin Emirates, in the name of Almighty Allah and the Prophet Mohammed, and in the spirit of Sheikh Mohammed Kamaldeen Aliadabbiyi, to avoid creating division among us for selfish reasons. We should remember the future and recognize that Professor Suleiman, now fully with the APC, aims to serve the people of Ilorin Emirates and Kwara State at large.
Regardless of political affiliations, Professor Suleiman is a candidate with a proven track record and the five key qualities: Competence, Confidence, Courage, Character, and Capacity. He is not desperate for power, contrary to the blackmail against him.
His move to the APC is not a desperate bid for the governorship but a step to join hands with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq for the progress of Kwara State. However, if it is the will of Almighty Allah for him to become the next Governor of Kwara State, no one can hinder the divine plan, which I personally wish for him, inshallah.
Therefore, let us unite and speak with one voice. We are all from Ilorin and should not destroy each other or allow two close friends to become enemies because of our selfish interests. Instead, let us unite everyone, regardless of political affiliations, for the development of our community.
