The Chief Executive Officer of Noktel Hotels, Ilorin, Dr. Edward Adewale Akingbade, has called for federal and state government intervention to address the challenges hampering the development of the hotel industry in Nigeria.
Speaking at the official opening of Dunmade Apartments in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, Dr. Akingbade lamented that the hotel industry, particularly in Ilorin, faces numerous obstacles despite its significant potential.
He emphasized the need for government recognition and support to overcome these challenges, by initiating policies that will bolster the hotel industry, ensuring it contributes significantly to the local economy and tourism sector.
“We are pleading that the federal government should help the industry get out of these challenges,” Dr. Akingbade stated.
In addition to his role at Noktel Hotels, Dr. Akingbade is the Managing Director of Top Green Nigeria Limited (Oil and Gas) and Tangent Construction Company Limited.
Explaining the motivation behind the new addition to the chain of hotels, Dr. Akingbade said, “We have tapped from the state and we are giving back. We thought that the state needs a standard as it obtains in Abuja and Lagos.”
“Dunmade Apartment is specifically built for people coming from abroad or from outside of the state for short stays. The apartment contains everything that will make you feel as though you are at home,” he added.
In his remarks the Olusin of Ijara Isin, Oba Ajibola Ademola Julius, has praised the owners of Noktel Resorts Hotel for their continuous investment in Kwara State, which he noted is gradually contributing to the state’s development.
“I commend the owners of Noktel Resorts Hotel for their consistent investment in Kwara State, which is gradually opening up the state to development,” the Olusin stated.
He also encouraged other investors to consider Kwara State as a viable destination for business, highlighting the numerous potentials and the harmonious environment the state offers.
Noktel Resorts Hotels Limited, owners and operators of select bouquet hotels, resorts, apartments, and hospitality centers across Abuja and Ilorin, continue to expand their presence with the aim of providing world-class hospitality services.
