The coalition of Health Sector Unions in Kwara state has issued a seven days protest to the state government after a meeting between the union and representatives of the state government ended in a deadlock.
The union which includes the national union of allied health practitioner in a statement signed by its chairman Isaac Bolatito and made available to Sobi FM today said the meeting ended in deadlock as the government representatives are not able to meet up with its demands.
He said the notice is due to the non implementation of the payment of the 100 percent CONHESS and hazard allowance already being enjoyed by Doctors and Nurses working in same hospital.
He said the unions they shall commence its hospital protest rally from Monday 18th September, 2023 to further press home for its demands, after which indefinite strike will follow in the State and across all the 16 Local Government of the State.
Bolatito said members of the union can not continue to work without enjoying same benefits enjoyed by other health sector workers, saying the style of favouring one particular set of workers and neglecting others in the same sector can no longer be entertained.
