The Provost College of Technology, Ipetu-Ijesha in Osun state,Prince Olaniyi E. Adegoke has called on the police authorities in the state to thoroughly investigate the death of one of his students, Victor Olonade Semilore.
Victor, a part one student of Computer Software Engineering,of the institution reportedly died recently in a mysterious circumstances , a development that prompted the school authorities to call for thorough investigation into the tragedy and also punish the offenders.
The Student was said to have reportedly had a record of two mothers, which the school authorities also want the police to investigate among others.
The press release issued by the Head of the institution, Prince Olaniyi Adegoke reads,”
“The attention of the College of Techhnogy, Ipetu-Ijesha, Osun state has been drawn to a news item moving around concerning the unfortunate death of a 17 year old student of our school named Olonade Victor Semilore.
“Victor was a part one student of Computer Software Engineering, College of Technology, Ipetu-Ijesha until his death. According to the information attached to his bio-data during the admission process to the college, this young boy hailed from Ife- North Local Government but resides in Ondo town in Ondo State.
“The woman who presents herself as his guardian and in fact puts herself forward as his mother said she resides in Ondo town in Ondo state.
“The school has no record of any other mother or guardian from any other place. The School authority gathered that one woman who is said to be residing in Ilesha has been claiming to be Victor’s mother.
“The school would like to state that this other woman from Ilesha whose place Victor was reported to have visited on the day of his death is not known to the school at all neither is the school in the know of her connection to Late Victor Olonade Semilore.
“The school would want to clarify that as at this moment, there is no hostel facility, accommodation or hall of residence belonging to the school. Once a student is admitted, the school would expect him to sort out his accommodation within the town.
“From the account of this incident, Victor Olonade Semilore’s death was said to have occurred at Isoko, Ilesha, a distance far away from the school. There was no record that the boy took permission from his department neither from the school.
“The boy was reported to have died in Ilesha with this woman who claims to be his mother who had never showed up in the college and is unknown by any member of the school.
“It is unfortunate that such a young boy full of potentials, a promising programmer could just pass away in such manner. The incident is unfortunate and the school would miss him so dearly.
“The school authority is imploring the police and other security agencies to carry out a thorough and diligent investigation into the untimely death of Victor Semilore Olonade with a view to do justice in the matter and punish the offenders, if any, who may have been found to be culpable or have hands in his death.
“The school commiserates with the family of Victor Olonade Semilore and pray that the Good Lord will give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
