An Ilorin Magistrate Court has adjourned till the 7th of next month for the trial of a twenty-five-year-old Aliyu Abubakar who allegedly robbed students of the Kwara State University, Malete, of items worth millions of naira.
According to the police first information report, the suspect, Abubakar, robbed the victims in their various hostels at gun points in which iPhone, laptops and other gadgets were cartered away
The police reports says the police recovered some of the items from the suspects’ possession while some other properties worth about ten million naira were recovered in one Tajudeen Apalando house.
The prosecutor, Ayeni Gbenga, informed the court of the motion exparte attached to the police report seeking the remand of the suspect in the correction Centre.
He added that the matter is not ordinarily bailable on the basis that it’s capital offence that requires capital punishment if eventually found guilty by the court
Sobi FM’s Judiciary Correspondent Kayode Adeoti reports that Magistrate Kamsom who precided over the matter, granted the prosecutor’s application and ordered the remand of the suspects in the Corrections facility.
