The Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) has commended the redeployment of Commissioner of Police, CP Tunji Disu, from Rivers State to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command in Abuja.
In a statement issued and signed by the President Lekan Olabulo CRAN noted that CP Disu’s redeployment to the FCT Command brings his extensive experience and proven record in law enforcement, especially his familiarity with Abuja, having previously served as the Commander of the Intelligence Response Team.
The association described the strategic move aligned with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun’s aim to strengthen national security through effective resource allocation.
CRAN remarked that his policing style and operational skills, showcased as Chairman of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos, position him well to tackle the FCT’s security challenges.
The association highlighted that Disu’s tenure as the CP in Rivers State was marked by professionalism and impartiality amid escalating tensions, earning him commendation from the public for his proactive peacekeeping measures.
According to CRAN, his transfer to Abuja will likely bolster security, especially with his knowledge of the region and his established reputation in crime control.
CRAN further applauded the IGP’s foresight in selecting CP Disu for this crucial role, underscoring the need for experienced leadership in tackling complex security issues in the nation’s capital.
The association expressed confidence in Disu’s capabilities to enhance security in the FCT, describing the redeployment as a “well-deserved” placement that aligns with the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to protecting lives and property.
CRAN also conveyed its support for CP Disu, wishing him success in his new role and expressing optimism about the positive impact his redeployment will have on the FCT’s security framework.
