Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have pledged to intensify their involvement in curbing the spread of malaria and ensuring the provision of quality services in healthcare centers across Kwara State.
The ACOMIN State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Olatubosun, made this declaration during a Community-Led Monitoring quarterly media briefing held Ilorin, this past weekend.
Mr. Olatubosun highlighted the ongoing efforts of engaged civil society organizations in facilitating significant improvements across healthcare facilities through community engagement and sensitization programs.
“We have facilitated the provision of more boreholes to various primary healthcare centers and have raised awareness among community leaders, religious leaders, and the state government regarding their responsibilities in ensuring a healthy society,” he stated.
He commended the Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) for their relentless efforts and expressed gratitude to the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) under the Global Fund grant for actualizing the progressive vision of Community-Led Monitoring across the country.
Mr. Olatubosun noted that the project is being implemented in 13 different states, including Kwara, with nine local governments benefitting from the project’s initiatives.
” The continued efforts of CSOs and the support from global partners like CRS are pivotal in achieving a significant reduction in malaria spread and enhancing the quality of healthcare services in the state,” he said.
