The Kwara State Police Command has congratulated Muslim faithfuls and indeed the good people of Kwara State on the upcoming Eid-Kabir celebrations.
The command in a statement signed by the Spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi today in Ilorin, calls for the need for everyone to be security concious.
According to the statement “In view of the prevailing security concerns in the country, the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, CP Tuesday Assayomo psc (+) has emplaced formidable security plans across the length and breadth of the state, aimed at ensuring hitch- free Sallah and Durbar celebrations in Kwara state.
“All the special forces available to the command like the K9, Mounted troop, Explosive Ordinance Department, Counter Terrorist Unit, Special Tactical section, AKS, PMF and conventional police men have been fully briefed and motivated to take up their respective policing roles perfectly before, during and after the Sallah festivities.
“All exit and entry points into Kwara state, both local and international, have been well policed by all relevant security agencies working in conjunction with the police, it stated.
The statement said the command is not unmindful of the fear in the minds of some people arising from happenings generally in the country in recent times, hence serious proactive efforts have been put in place to build the confidence of the people in the ability of the police and other security agencies to ensure that the celebrations are robust but hitch- free.
