The timely intervention of the Kwara State Fire Service this evening saves properties worth millions of naira as an explosion rocks L&K Filling Station located at Oke Agodi, Alfa Yahya Area of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Sobi FM Correspondent who was at the scene of the incident reports that men of the State Fire Service were able to immediately stop the spread of the inferno to adjoining house and subsequently contained it within the premises of the fuel station.
An eyewitness, Honorable Yakub Agodi explained that the explosion occurred while a tanker was dropping fuel at the station which caught everybody unaware.
Yakub, who is the youth leader of the area appreciated the state fire service for their response to quickly contain the inferno and equally apologized to the fire service for the attack on their men by the angry youths of the area.
The Director of Media and Publicity of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle while speaking with our Correspondent expressed his displeasure over the attack on his men during the operation.
Adekunle however advised and pleaded with the community to always exercise patient anytime there is a fire incident.
