The Bayo and Bunmi Foundation has again awarded scholarships to pupils and students numbering six hundred and fifty one in Omu-Aran, the headquarters of Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The founder Engineer Sunday Adebayo Babalola, while speaking at the 8th edition of the award ceremony in Omu Aran, at the weekend charged government to stop using public fund on frivolous things but ensure education is affordable even to the child of a common man.
He said government should see education as one of the foundations that can help lift the society towards development saying an educated child will have good knowledge in whatever vocation he or she chooses to do to earn a living.
Meanwhile, a total of one hundred and one twenty pupils from secondary schools and seven hundred and thirty three from tertiary institutions have so far benefited from the foundation since inception.
In his remark the Olomu of Omu Aran , Oba Abdulraheem Adeoti, commended the foundation for the gesture adding that the rich and well ti do individual in the society should take a cue from the benevolent gesture of Engineer Babalola.
