Reports have emerged of a shocking incident involving a pilgrim from Kwara State, Nigeria, who began exhibiting signs of mental distress shortly after landing in the holy city of Medina for the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
The is believed to have suffered from a form of mental breakdown, possibly triggered by the stress and intensity of the pilgrimage experience.
Eyewitnesses reported that the female pilgrim started behaving erratically, shouting and running around in a disoriented manner.
Our reporter gathered that authorities from the Kwara State Pilgrims Welfare Board were quickly alerted to the situation and responded to the scene by providing medical assistance and support to the affected pilgrim.
The incident raise concern and questions about the mental health and well-being of pilgrims undertaking the Hajj journey, as well as the adequacy of support systems in place to address such situations.
Meanwhile the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board, has commiserated with the family of two pilgrims who died in Madinah.
In a statement by the Executive Secretary Kwara State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abdulsalam Abdulkadir sent profound condolences to their families, asking Allaah to grant them comfort and forgive the deceased.
The deceased are Saliu Mohammed, who arrived with Batch 3 of the state contingent, died in an intensive care unit of a public hospital in Madina after brief illness while Hajia Hawawu Mohammed (Batch 9) also died after falling from the rooftop of her apartment in Madina.
