As part of efforts to ensure youths in bid constituency are self reliant the lawmaker representing Ekiti state constituency in the Kwara state house of assembly Honourable Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel, has trained 120 youths on skills acquisitions.
Tagged Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel’s Youth Skills Acquisition, Training and Empowerment Programme, 11-selected youth from across Ekiti constituency were also benefited from cash empowerment worth half a million naira.
At the graduation and Empowerment ceremony which took place at Osi Town Hall, Hon. Abolarin stated that the essence of the training was to give back to the youth for the electoral trust they placed on him, by making them self reliant by creating jobs.
He assured them of the state government’s commitment to provide an enabling environment for the youths to explore their potentials in order for them to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the state.
Skills like liquid soap making, bar washing and bathing soap, herbal soap, body jelly (Vaseline), car wash soap, balm ointment, body moisturiser cream, insecticide, among others were learnt.
Honourable Abolarin who in the last 10-months of his representation in the 10th Assembly has also constructed motorized borehole in Koro, renovated a block of two classrooms at St Paul’s LGEA Primary School, Isapa and undertaken the installation of solar streets light in communities such as Eruku, Obbo-Ile, Ora, Ejiu, Isolo-Opin, Ikerin-Opin, Ajuba, Epe-Opin, Oke-Opin, Etan and Obbo-Aiyegunle with the aim of enhancing safety, improve social life and local businesses.
He called on the youths to take make judicious use of the opportunity and impact their loved ones in the society,
The 120-beneficiaries were empowered with a sum of N20,000 each as take off grant to procure raw materials to kick start their businesses, while additional 11-selected youth across the 10-wards of the constituency were empowered with a sum of five hundred and fifty thousand naira.
The event was graced by dignitaries including the speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yakubu Danladi, the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Ojo Olayiwola Oyebode, the House leader, Honourable Oba Abdulkadir Magaji (ILORIN Central), Honourable Mohammed Baba Salihu (Okuta/Yashkira), Honourable Ahmed Saidu Baba (Gwanabe/Adena/Banni), Honourable Bello Yinusa Oniboki (Afon), Honourable Omotosho Rasaq ( Isin) Honourable Lawal Saliu Ayansola (Oloru/Malete/Ipaye), Honourable Odetundun Olushola (Irepodun), Honourable Olajire Bamigboye (Oke-Ero).
Also from the State Assembly are the top management team of the Kwara State House of Assembly, ably led by the clerk of the House, Alhaji Kareem Ahmed Olayiwola.
Leading the party hierarchy to the ceremony was the state Chairman of the APC in Kwara’ State, Prince Sunday Adeniran Fagbemi, the Kwara’ South Elders Forum Chairman, Chief J.B. Ayeni and other members of the forum.
Leaders frorm across the 10-wards of Ekiti Constituency, the Honourable commissioner for Social development, Mrs. Afolashade Justina, the Ekiti Local Government TIC Chairman, Honourable Bayode Kehinde and members of his transition council,.Ekiti Local Government APC leadership as led by Honorable Awelewa Olawale, wards’ chairmen, women leaders and the youth leaders.
The high point of the event was the presentation of certificates with take off grants to each of the 120-graduands.
